Making the Case For Localism: Bullitt Foundation

The Bullitt Foundation, one of the most influential foundations in the Pacific Northwest, seeks to mitigate the footprint of human beings on the region’s environment. Beyond grantmaking, in 2013 they finished construction on a new office building that is considered among the greenest buildings in the world. Designed to meet the "Living Building Challenge," it aims to be "net zero" for energy and water, was built from local materials, and is toxics free.
